The inspiration for this Blogroll came from a posting by Ben Werdmiller. I responded to his post, Alan Levine responded to mine, and well, I knew that I had to do something. Blogrolls were part of the web long ago. They were extremely useful in helping bloggers find each other and new blogs. It is possible that social media has replaced blogrolls. I use NetNewsWire as my RSS reader to follow a lot of bloggers. Below are some of the bloggers that I follow.
Author | Blog | Focus |
---|---|---|
Ben Werdmiller | Werd I/O | Ben writes at the intersection of “intersection of technology, democracy, and society”. |
Alan Levine | CogDogBlog | Alan is an open source advocate. He writes and promotes a variety of great stuff. From a custom search engine in Google that searches for Creative Commons material to H5P materials, Alan shares a wealth of resources. |
Doug Belshaw | Open Thinkering | Doug writes about a wide range of things. He is an open source advocate who also advocates for Co-op work. He is known for his work on Digital Literacies and Open Badges. He is the inspiration for the Weekly Review that I do as well. He is thoughtful and often brings up philosophy in his writings. |
Peter Greene | Curmudgucation | Peter writes about education. A now retired teacher, he keeps up with and posts about the big picture in education. As you can guess by the name of the blog, he has a specific point of view. Well thought out ideas are shared regularly. |
Joan Westenberg | @Westenberg | Joan is an indie journalist and writer. She covers a wide range of technology, economics, and humans. |
Larry Ferlazzo | Larry Ferlazzo’s Websites of the Day | Larry is a prolific, and I mean prolific, writer of education tips, research, classroom practice, and more (about education). He is a teacher of Multi-Language (ML), students for whom English is not their native language. I have no idea how he posts the incredible stuff that he does constantly. |
Cory Doctorow | Pluralistic | Cory is a deep thinker who posts regularly on freedom, copyright, technology and more. Oh, and he is also a writer of books. Fiction and non-fiction books that you can buy (and are DRM free). He has written many science fiction books. He may be most popular right now for creating the term “enshitification”. |
